School bus drivers are in high demand, and that's no exception here in Washoe County.
The school district needs to hire 45 to 50 drivers by next month.
That's when training of the new drivers begins for the upcoming school year.
Transportation officials say they were short twenty drivers this past year.
Dispatchers and mechanics had to drive the buses.
Certain routes experienced delays up to several hours because of the shortage.
The school district expects more problems this summer if the positions aren't filled.
To apply for a school bus driver, go to the district offices on East Ninth Street.
You must be over 21, have a clean driving record, and no criminal history.
It pays about 10-75 an hour.
