Here's the scenario.
A 747 charter plane experiences engine failure upon take-off, and crashes into Rattlesnake Mountain.
It's operation "Broken Propeller."
The Washoe County Airport Authority is required, by the federal government, to perform these aircraft disaster exercises every three years.
The drill tests emergency responders to follow their multiple casualty incident plan.
They have to set-up an incident command system, control any fires, and rescue and treat injured passengers.
The last commercial airline to crash in Reno was back in 1985, killing 70 people on board.
