Sparks, NV - An early morning rollover Saturday has left one man dead.
Around 6 o'clock, Sparks police received 911 calls advising of an accident at Sparks Blvd and Eagle Pass, near Pyramid Highway..
Police found a blue 2003 Acura 2-door had driven off Sparks Blvd into a field north of Eagle Pass.
Two occupants on scene were still in the vehicle. The passenger was able to be removed and was transported to Renown for non-life-threatening injuries.
The driver was not wearing his seat belt and had to be extricated from the car. He was transported to Renown, where he died as a result of his injuries.
He has been identified as Cody Vance, a 23-year-old local resident. Evidence of alcohol was present on the scene, but toxicology reports are pending. Police believe Vance had been speeding.
The Sparks Police Department is asking that anyone who saw the accident or a vehicle traveling northbound on Sparks Blvd at the time to contact Sgt. Walsh at 353-2241 ext. 503.
