There was a drowning scare Saturday night at the Sparks Marina.
Fire fighters say around seven o'clock, an experienced young boater tipped his catamaran in the middle of the lake and unsuccessfully tried to flip it back over.
The boater's father watched from shore and swam out to help, but the two still couldn't get the boat to its right side.
Bystanders called the fire department for help, who sent out crews to help the men finally get the boat on-shore.
Firefighters warn everyone, whether you're experienced or not, to wear life jackets when boating and to be prepared for the cold water despite the warm temperature outside.
