CARSON CITY, Nev. (AP) - Family members say an 11-year-old Carson City girl has died of influenza after developing pneumonia.
Kyra Conway complained of feeling fatigued during a recent family trip to Disneyland. The vacation was a wish The Dream Foundation granted to her mother, Danielle, who has terminal colon cancer.
Krya was at school Thursday when she complained of chest pain,
and a nurse believed she was having an asthma attack.
Her grandmother, Norma Conway, says she rested at home the next few days, but had developed a high fever by Sunday.
She was diagnosed with pneumonia the next day.
She was flown to a Reno hospital on Tuesday before being flown to Davis, Calif. Norma Conway says the girl's heart stopped during the flight, and emergency crews were unable to revive her.
