Thirty years ago, the United States withdrew the the last of our troops from Vietnam, as the communists took over the country and renamed its capitol.
Today in Washington, a celebration took place to pay tribute to the men and women who died before the North Vietnamese moved into Saigon.
Here in Reno, Vietnam veterans recalled their memories of the war.
Veteran Bill Malkman said, "It was the best thing that could have happened to get the war ended and the troops out of there."
According to the local chapter of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, the travelling Vietnam Memorial Wall will make its way to Hawthorne next month.
