A Nevada Highway Patrol Trooper who was injured when her patrol car was struck by another vehicle in white out conditions was treated and released from the hospital.
The NHP says Trooper Chava Rothschild was in her patrol car parked in the median of U.S. 395 through Washoe Valley when a sport utility vehicle pulling a 28-foot trailer went out of control and rammed into her Tuesday morning.
The Washoe County sheriff's office is handling the accident investigation.
Rothschild, a 16-year NHP veteran, was treated for chest injuries at Carson Tahoe Hospital and released.
Gusting winds caused icy roads and poor visibility, and authorities closed the highway between Reno and Carson City for much of the day.
