By a vote of 302-126 the House of representatives passed a bankruptcy reform bill, that will make it more difficult for people to wipe out their debts.
Democrats angrily attacked the bill, as one designed to fill the vaults of
credit card companies, at the expense of the most vulnerable. Republicans say the bill would save the average family $ 400 a year in higher interest payments charged by credit card companies on unpaid balances.
A short time after the bill was passed, the GOP leadership invited cameras to witness the "enrollment process", the last step before the bill goes to the president for his signature.
The president is expected to sign the bill this week.
