Hazmat Spill Closes I-80 At Truckee

Video will be available shortly.

Hazardous materials teams were called out when a Federal Express driver pulled over to put chains on his truck and noticed a chemical leaking from his truck.
California Highway Patrol officers were called to the scene and they quickly shut the highway down until experts could get to the area and find out what was leaking.
Hazmat teams discovered the chemical was Heptane, which is an industrial solvent that has a gasoline type odor.
Short-term exposure to Heptane causes dizziness and nausea.
