Troopers are still investigating a single vehicle minor-injury accident that blocked 1 west bound travel lane of Interstate 80 this morning.
At around 10:00 am, several callers to the DPS Communications Center indicated a single vehicle was involved in an accident blocking the far left lane of the Interstate just west of the Sierra St overpass.
The preliminary accident investigations revealed that 41 year old Cathy M. Toftner of Fernley was driving her 1998 Pontiac 4 door sedan west bound in the far left lane.
For reasons unknown, she lost control of her vehicle and struck the center cement barrier wall.
Her vehicle came to rest in the left lane causing traffic to be reduced to 2 west bound travel lanes.
She complained of neck injuries and was transported to the hospital by REMSA.
The left lane was blocked for approximately 45 minutes while troopers investigated the scene and waited for the tow truck.
The lane was cleared at approximately 10:45 am.
