Age Limit Raised For Army Reservists

With the number of new recruits falling, the Army opens the door to older citizen soldiers.
The numbers are staggering. Right now, about 150-thousand American troops are deployed in Iraq. And about 18-thousand are in Afghanistan, putting a strain on the numbers of military personnel nationally.
The age ceiling for the regular Army is set by law at 34. The Army could order this change for the Guard and Reserve without going to Congress. Army brass is hoping it will halt a troubling national trend.
This change doesn't affect physical standards, but those who are up to it and want to serve, and are a day short of their 40th birthday can now sign up and go to boot camp with the kids.
