Experts: Nevada Housing Will Take Time To Recover

Experts say northern Nevada's economy will continued to be challenged this year by the struggling housing market.

At a forum in Reno sponsored by the Associated General Contractors, economists and real estate brokers say the region will "muddle through" 2008, and home building market will remain weak.

The economic downturn is also being felt in commercial real estate leasings.

Officials say office vacancy rates in Reno were 19.6 percent as of December.

That's up from 11.6 percent four years ago.
