Tuesday at approximately 8:04 a.m. RPD was called to the area of the 1600 block of Hoyt St., Reno, on a report of a man yelling and screaming in his front yard.
The man was yelling that he was surrounded by people with guns. When the first police units arrived on scene the man came out onto his second story balcony holding a rifle in a non-threatening manner.
Officers backed away from the residence and attempted to call him on the phone.
After approximately an hour of trying to contact the man he walked out of his residence and was detained.
The man, in his 60’s, was taken to Saint Mary’s Regional Medical Center for a psychological evaluation. No one was injured in the incident.
