This 13-part series is a spin-off of a very successful History Channel Special.
Producers selected the Carson Valley Inn in Minden to shoot the episode, "Slot Scoundrel." The story line revolves around Tommy Glenn Carmichael. He organized a slot machine gang and created tools and lasers which could crack slot machines.
Producers say they'll be shooting interiors of their series in Northern Nevada Casinos. Logistically, they say shooting those same shots in Las Vegas would have been more difficult.
The docu-movie-series tries to be as historically accurate as possible, including re-creations along with interviews with those involved in the crime as well as investigators and those who prosecuted the criminals.
Crews will be at the Carson Valley Inn for the next four days. "Breaking Vegas" starts Tuesday, March 1 on the History Channel. These episodes featuring the Carson Valley Inn will most likely air in April or May.
