A 73-year-old Silver Springs man has been arrested on a charge of suspicion of attempted murder after sheriff's deputies say he fired a shot at another man in his home.
Irving Towne is accused of trying to kill 53-year-old Melvin Osborne inside the home at about 7 a.m. on Wednesday.
A SWAT team was called to the scene and Towne was arrested after
about a 90 minute standoff.
Lyon County Sheriff's Lt. Bryan Veil said the shooting followed an argument and that both men are believed to have been intoxicated.
At one point during the standoff, Veil said Towne came out of the house and placed a rifle on the front porch.
He later walked unarmed to the driveway where he was arrested.
Osborne was not hurt.
Towne is being held in the Lyon County Jail in lieu of $100,000 bail.
