Like all new college graduates, Dove Zugarramurdi is looking forward to her new career.
The 61-year-old Reno woman graduated from the University of Nevada, Reno this month with a bachelor's degree in biology.
This week, she learned she's been accepted to the National College of Natural Medicine in Portland, Ore.
She begins classes in August.
The four-year institution founded in 1956 teaches clinical science and holistic health and healing.
Zugarramurdi said she plans to specialize in family and women's medicine.
She said while some may question whether she's too old to become a doctor, she's eager to help others.
And if her dexterity of eyesight should fail, she says she'll share her knowledge through teaching.
