Water rates for Reno-area residents will go up
next month, but not as much as originally proposed by the Truckee
Meadows Water Authority board.
Board members Wednesday unanimously approved a 3 percent rate
increase for metered customers. The average metered customer will
see their monthly bills increase from $40.36 to $41.82s.
For flat-rate customers, bills will go from $67.50 to $74.90. an
increase of nearly 11 percent.
An initial proposal had called for a 6.6 percent increase for
metered customers and 20 percent for flat-rate water users.
