Capitol Police Officers to Present New Bicycles to Eagle Valley Children’s Home and Salvation Army on Wednesday

Officers from the Department of Public Safety-Capitol Police Division in Carson City will be presenting 34 brand new bicycles to representatives of the Eagle Valley Children’s Home in Carson City and the local Salvation Army this Wednesday, December 19th, at 8:30 am.

“The children’s home is in need of approximately 10 bikes and the rest will be given to the Salvation Army who will distribute them to area children in need. We were hoping to purchase 20 bikes this year but the generosity of all of the staff allowed us to purchase 34 for the Children’s Home and the Salvation Army” said Chief Brad Valladon.

This has been an annual event that began approximately 6 years ago with the men and women of this division who donate their own money to purchase bicycles and helmets. Other state employees at the Capitol Building became involved this year and are donating blankets, gloves, stuffed animals and other items that will also be presented at the same time.

Please plan on joining us at the Capitol Building (foyer) Wednesday morning at 8:30 for this event.
