Update: Dylan raised just over $300 dollars for Clover the kitten. Donations can be made all week long at Olivia's Ice Cream Shop at 880 S. Wells Ave. The donations will be delivered to Dayton on Saturday by Dylan and family.

Reno, Nev. - A kitten that was thrown from a moving car is getting some help from an 8-year old Reno boy who saw the kitten's story on KOLO 8 News Now.

"I went to my room and cried for about a half hour," said Dylan Darrenogue.

He says he can't imagine how anyone could have thrown a 7-week-old kitten from a moving car.

"I was devastated," he said. "I would never do that to a kitten."

Clover the kitten suffered some serious injuries, including a broken arm, brain damage, and problems with his vision and hearing. When Dylan dried his tears, after hearing what happened, he was ready to help.

He organized a lemonade stand in front of Olivia's Ice Cream on S. Wells Avenue in Reno, dedicated to raising money for Clover's care.

Dylan never planned on meeting Clover, but when K.A. Animal Rescue in Dayton found out what he was doing to help, they brought Clover for a visit.

"I feel amazed that he's here," Dylan said while holding the kitten, and petting his head.

The sight brought his mother, Jamie, to tears.

"To watch him be able to see him. It's amazing," she said.

Deborah Larson, the owner of K.A. Animal Rescue said she felt like she needed to bring Clover, so Dylan could see exactly who he was helping.

"When children have respect for animals at a young age, they generally grow up having respect for animals and respect for people, so we're very, very proud of him to only be 8-years-old, and to take this upon himself to do this," said Larson.

Dylan says he hopes to raise enough to cover Clover's medical expenses, so Clover can get what he really needs.

"A nice home that loves him and cares about him," said Dylan.

Clover still needs some medical care before he can be adopted, but there has been a lot of demand.
