Hundreds of young scientists from around the globe will converge in Reno in 2009 when the city hosts the 60th annual Intel International Science and Engineering Fair.
Organizers say the event is considered the Olympics of high school science fairs.
It is scheduled to be held May 10-15, 2009.
A group called Gathering Genius Inc. has raised about $600,000 of $1.7 million required to sponsor the event.
Students will compete for scholarships.
