Commissioners Approve Tax Break To Lure Geothermal Companies

Churchill County commissioners have approved a tax break in an effort to lure geothermal companies _ the first such action by a county in the geothermal-rich state.

Commissioners last week decided to abate two-and-three-quaters percent of sales and use taxes to encourage geothermal development in the county.

Commissioners say they're worried that geothermal companies will go to other counties in the state without the tax break.
