Edwards Gets Backing Of Nevada Communication Workers

Democratic presidential candidate John Edwards has won the backing of the Nevada affiliate of the Communication Workers of America.

CWA claims 4,000 active and retired members in the state.

It is most politically active in northern Nevada.

Local President Chuck Benway says he like the former North Carolina senator's rural background, his attention to working families and support for gun owners' rights.

The union represents telecommunication workers, as well as public employees.

Edwards previously has won the support of the carpenters, steelworkers and transport unions in Nevada.
