The Storey County school board has upheld the firing of Virginia City High School teacher William Beeson.
Under a new agreement reached with officials, Beeson will no longer teach at Storey County schools, but retains his teaching credentials and can seek employment elsewhere.
Beeson taught theater arts and English.
He was placed on administrative leave in May and fired in August over allegations that he had improperly touched a student.
No criminal charges were filed.
Storey County District Attorney Harold Swafford said he didn't believe a crime was committed.
Several supporters of Beeson attended the meeting Wednesday night and urged the board to reconsider his termination.
