Reno city officials are drafting proposals to try to curb tension between off-road vehicle riders and homeowners near open land.
Councilman Dan Gustin has asked for discussion at a future meeting to provide direction on off-road access to city property and enforcement.
He also wants the city to do more to identify trails open to off-road use and those that are not.
Some pro-motor sport residents say signs posted near a west Reno
neighborhood prohibiting motorized vehicles are illegal because there is no ordinance to enforce it.
Residents, however, complain about dust near their homes and the constant roar of engines.
