Adults looking for an educational and entertaining diversion for their youth can finally get away for a few hours of holiday shopping.
The Reno Tahoe Equestrian Centre (RTEC) will host a Holly Jolly Holiday Hangout on Saturday, December 15th and Sunday December 16th from 1 to 4 p.m. at their new facility located just five minutes from the Summit Sierra Shopping Center.
While parents and caretakers spend the afternoon holiday shopping, youth will have a chance to meet the RTEC Arabian horses and participate in a fun and informative discussion on colors, markings, breeds and horse facts.
Youth participants will also have the opportunity to groom, feed carrots and watch riding demonstrations in a safe and controlled environment.
“Since our new center is in such close proximity to the Summit Sierra Shopping Center, this is a convenient service to offer parents and a fun way to introduce youth to the equestrian arts,” said Deborah Johnson, Owner and Equine Specialist at RTEC.
“For those who have thought about enrolling their youth in the RTEC Riding Academy as a holiday gift, this program is the perfect opportunity to see the facility and for youth to get a feel for working with horses.”
RTEC is a full-service Riding Academy and nationally renowned Arabian and Half-Arabian training facility offering instruction to riders of all levels of experience, in every age group, and offering a comprehensive education in the art and science of horsemanship.
Riding Academy packages are available and are a great gift idea for those who want to extend their youth’s experience with horses beyond the Holly Jolly Holiday Hangout.
RTEC’s Holly Jolly Holiday Hangout is designed for youth ages 7 and older and costs $25 with refreshments and snacks included.
A portion of the proceeds will be donated to The Junior League of Reno.
RTEC is located at 2455 Rhodes Road, approximately one mile past Mt. Rose Highway.
Reservations are required and can be made by calling (775) 781-1701 or e-mail firstname.lastname@example.org.
