Homeowners Threatened By Foreclosure Turn Out For Help In Reno

Dozens of homeowners facing the threat of foreclosure have turned out for advice from experts at a session in Reno designed to help them deal with the mortgage lending crisis.

Similar sessions featuring government officials, lenders and other experts will be held later this week in Las Vegas, Pahrump and Elko.

At the request of Senator Harry Reid, experts are taking part across Nevada in what are known as Foreclosure Mobile Resource Centers.

Reid is urging Nevadans at risk of losing their homes to attend a center.

About 40 homeowners turned out for the first session Monday in Reno.

Experts urge homeowners in trouble not to worry in silence, saying communication with lenders often leads to solutions.

After stopping today in Minden, experts plan to be available to homeowners Wednesday at the Elko County Library in Elko, Thursday
at the Clark County Library's Flamingo branch in Las Vegas and
Friday at the Pahrump Community Library in Pahrump.

Each of the sessions will be held from noon to 2 p-m.
