Change Of Venue Sought In Minden Murder Case

The lawyer for a woman accused of killing her husband in Minden is seeking a change of venue because of pretrial publicity.

Attorney James Wilson argues in court documents that Karen Bodden cannot receive a fair and impartial trial in Douglas County.

District Judge Dave Gamble is scheduled to consider Wilson's motion during a hearing Wednesday. Jury selection is set for Nov. 29.

In his motion, Wilson said more than 50 stories about the case have been published in the media.

The 44-year-old Bodden has been in Douglas County Jail since Sept. 11, 2006, following the discovery of her husband's body in the desert near Johnson Lane.

She is being held on $1 million cash bail.

Authorities allege believe Robin Bodden, a 50-year-old aircraft mechanic, was shot to death Aug. 15-16, 2006, and his body was dumped in the desert where it was found nearly a month later.
