Police say a Reno man is facing felony drunken driving and hit-and-run charges after allegedly striking a 14-year-old girl in a pedestrian crosswalk.
The accident happened around 5:30 Friday night at California Avenue and Newland Circle.
Investigators said two other motorists had stopped for the girl and she was crossing the street when she was struck by a 2006 Chevrolet Yukon driven by 59-year-old Richard Havens.
Witnesses told police that the vehicle then swerved around the girl as she lay injured and fled the scene.
Havens was arrested at his home a short time later.
Police say the girl suffered serious head injuries and is being treated at a local hospital.
