Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger plans to meet with the group representing Hollywood producers to see if there's anything he can do to help resolve the writers strike.
Schwarzenegger spokesman Aaron McLear says he doesn't know where the private discussions will take place on Tuesday. McLear says the governor spoke with writers' representatives on Monday to discuss the labor dispute that is now in its second week.
However, McLear also says the governor is not sure how much the state can participate in negotiations, since federal labor officials would have to take the lead in mediating between the two sides.
The governor has also assigned staff members to meet with federal mediators.
