Truckee Meadows residents will be paying more for water starting next summer.
The Truckee Meadows Water Authority says the rate hikes, will be needed for the utility to remain on its current path toward fiscal stability.
It's not clear what impact that increase would have on local water bills.
The last rate hike approved in 2003 resulted in an increase in monthly bills of about four-and-a-half dollars.
