Tahoe Liquor Store Robbed; Alleged Bandit Shoots Self

South Lake Tahoe police say a liquor store near the Nevada line was robbed by a man who apparently shot himself after a chase.

The suspect made off with a small amount of cash after robbing
the Tahoe Bottle Shop.

He's identified as 25-year-old Daniel Vorhees, who's also known as Daniel Lovejoy, of Douglas County.

Police say the man crashed his truck during the chase (Friday night), but continued to flee before running off the road.

The suspect remained inside the vehicle and was eventually found
to have an apparently self-inflicted gunshot wound in the head.
