Boreal Ski Resort to Open Thursday

Video will be available shortly.

This week's storm brought nearly forty inches of new snow to the Sierra.
Just enough...so that Boreal ski resort will open for the season Thursday morning at 8:30.
Wednesday, workers were grooming the trails, doing safety checks on the lifts, and making sure they're fully staffed for opening day.
Typically, Boreal opens around Halloween...but this is the second earliest opening in the ski resort's 39 year history.
Snowboarders can't wait.
Boreal will have the Gunner trail open tomorrow.
Workers hope to have the top of the mountain open by the end of the weekend.
Lift tickets will start at 22-dollars.
Mammoth Mountain also plans to open Thursday morning.
Kirkwood will begin a limited operation on Saturday.
