A pay raise is in the works for the next Reno City Council.
The council approved a 60 percent pay hike last night for future council members and the mayor.
That's an increase from the current 34-thousand-500-dollars a year to more than 55-thousand, plus an annual cost-of-living adjustment.
The mayor's salary will rise from just under 40-thousand dollars to more than 60-thousand dollars a year.
Of the three council members seeking re-election, Ward 3 Councilwoman Jessica Sferrazza voted *for* the increase, while Councilmen Dave Aiazzi, Ward 5, and Pierre Hascheff, at large, and retiring Ward 1 Councilwoman Toni Harsh opposed the raise.
The vote was to repeal the previous ordinance setting salaries.
