The Leaves Are Falling! The Leaves Are Falling!

The City of Reno Public Works Department is extending the free leaf bags to City of Reno residents until Friday, November 16.

Reno residents can visit the Public Works Corporation Yard at 1640 East Commercial Row to pick up their 10 free leaf bags.

Bags are available to Reno residents only so proof of Reno residency is required to obtain the bags.

The free bags are available for pick up Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. until 3:30 p.m.

The free leaf bag program normally runs from October 1 through October 31 but Public Works is extending the time to encourage more citizens to keep our streets and gutters clear from debris.

In another effort to keep our streets and gutters clear, the City has their Vac-All truck in neighborhoods vacuuming leaves off the streets.

This is done to keep the debris from going into the gutters and then down the drain into our storm system thus plugging them up.

Residents should not sweep their leaves into the street or gutters even when the truck is in their neighborhood as it is a City of Reno code violation (Reno Municipal Code 12.10.020).
