Investigators say three men were fatally shot after an argument erupted at a Halloween party at a Reno home early Sunday morning, and two men have been arrested.
Police Lieutenant Robert McDonald says a preliminary investigation determined the gunshots were fired after a shoving match over people bumping into each other on the dance floor.
Two 23-year-old men, Derek Jensen of Reno, and Nathan Viljoen of Fallon, were among the victims. Police released the name of the third victim Monday, 21-year-old Charles Kelly of Truckee, California. The men will be remembered in a vigil Monday night at 9pm in the Jot Travis Student Union.
Two 19-year-old Reno men, Samisone Taukitoku and Saili Manu, were arrested on suspicion of robbery, assault with a deadly weapon and brandishing a firearm. Their bail was set at $500,000 each.
McDonald says a number of gunshots were fired both inside and outside the home shortly after 1 am, but it's unclear how many shooters were involved.
He says he anticipates additional charges to be filed in the next few days once forensic and autopsy results are received.
Some witnesses say panicked party-goers fled the house after they heard five or six gunshots.
Police say about 75 young people, some wearing costumes, were in
attendance at the time.
The Heatheridge Lane home is located in a quiet, upscale southwest Reno neighborhood.
