Authorities are calling the death of a person whose remains were found last week near South Lake Tahoe "suspicious."
But they concede that it's going to be a difficult investigation.
At one point, it was thought the remains might be those of a homeless woman who had been seen in the area.
Right now, investigators aren't even saying the person was a woman.
The body had been in the meadow for awhile and had been disturbed by coyotes.
Autopsy results could be released as early as today and it's hoped those will provide more insight into the case.
