Fallon Motorcyclist Killed In Intersection Collision

A Fallon motorcyclist is dead after colliding with an S-U-V at an intersection in Fallon.

The Nevada Highway Patrol says an S-U-V driven by 41-year-old Elvira Detiveaux of McAllen, Texas, had stopped at the intersection, then pulled out without noticing the oncoming motorcycle.

The bike, driven by 64-year-old Russell Armstrong of Fallon, hit the S-U-V, throwing off Armstrong.

He was pronounced dead at Banner Churchill Community Hospital.

An investigation is continuing, but troopers say alcohol does not appear to have been involved.

(The accident occurred on U-S 50 at the intersection with Crook Road.)
