Summer seemed to vanish in an instant over the weekend... As cold air and clouds infiltrated Northern Nevada.
The Sierra saw it's first accumulations of snow overnight, making for a messy morning commute. For several hours this morning, a heavy wet snow fell in the Truckee area. The National Weather Service receiving reports of as much as six inches in the higher elevations.
Area roads coated with a slick slush... At times made for treacherous travel.
But for Marilyn and Bob Trounson it was a welcome change from the heat down south. Bob Trounson, Southern California Resident,
"We came up from Southern California it was hot down there when we left. It's wonderful up here."
Monday mornings snow provided a thin blanket at Boreal Resort, enough to make die hard skiers salivate at the upcoming season.
Bela Badasz, Truckee Resident, "we like to ski...gets everyone excited about skiing. Why not get people excited." Scott Jereb, avid skier, "It's awesome! We ski every year... So this is quite an adventure I guess."
