Nurses spoke to media outlining what they will ask for in a new contract before a private meeting Monday evening.
Patty Allen, a registered nurse at Renown, said nurses want an improved nurse-to-patient ratio and more of a say in decision making.
The nurses are being represented by the Service Employees International Union, or SEIU. The nurses voted in favor of joining the union last month.
According to SEIU, nurses at Renown face "understaffing and high levels of nurse turnover."
Previously, a nurse has said a higher wage is needed to retain nurses.
However, Monday Allen said: "It's not about wages, it's about being able to go to work, give the best possible patient care you can and go home feeling that's what you've accomplished."
KOLO Eight was unable to reach a Renown spokesperson Monday evening.
