Eastbound North McCarran was closed at Keystone due to an accident Monday afternoon. The crash happened about 1:46pm when a bus turning left from Keystone onto McCarran hit a Dodge Neon traveling eastbound.
After striking the bus, the Dodge Neon drove off the roadway and up onto a hillside embankment just off the roadway at the intersection.
Reno Fire had to extricate the driver from the Dodge. All three occupants were transported to the hospital for treatment. The school bus was also occupied by three students in addition to the bus driver. One of the students had to be transported to the hospital for treatment.
None of the injuries is considered critical or life threatening. Neither speed nor alcohol appears to be a factor. The Washoe County School District was able to contact and notify the parents of all involved students while on scene.
At this time no charges have been filed, as the investigation is in the preliminary stages.
