As we continue to ease into the storm season, Highway Patrol officers are doing everything they can to make sure everyone is extra cautious on the roads.
State Trooper Scott Simon says the Highway Patrol religiously monitors weather conditions to determine how to staff each night during the storm season.
Strong winds and heavy snow usually mean every trooper must be available...and there are always reinforcements if necessary.
Since the troopers can only cover so much territory, they're asking for the public to help them out.
Simon says a lot of accidents are a result of people's inability to properly prepare their vehicles and themselves for these harsh conditions.
