Somersett will host an event to benefit Big Brothers-Big Sisters on October 13 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.
It’s the Touch-a-Truck and Harvest Festival at the new Somersett Town Square.
This first time family event gives children and families a chance to see some very unique vehicles up close.
Whether it is a snow plow, fire engine brush truck, or a Highway Patrol Cruiser, Touch-a-Truck offers some very interesting displays of vehicles, for a good cause.
Explore the trucks and talk with their operators to learn about these fascinating vehicles.
Sierra Pacific Power Company will also be on hand with a bucket truck and two journeyman lineman and their safety equipment to give “Bucket Truck” rides!
Everyone can also enjoy a Harvest Festival in the Town Square that will include a pumpkin patch, live music, beer, brats, apple cider, face painting and a raffle with great prizes provided by local merchants.
Hay rides will also be available between 12 p.m. and 2 p.m. and the first 100 children who arrive in their Halloween costumes will also receive a free treat.
Proceeds from the pumpkin patch, face painting, raffle and hay rides will benefit the Big Brothers-Big Sisters organization.
Big Brothers-Big Sisters is a non-profit organization that brings the power of mentoring programs to our community by connecting mentors with the children that need and want them.
The affect that this can have on a young person’s life is astounding and Somersett is proud to support this great cause.
