Wolf Pack Wins Season Opener 49-24
RENO RENO - Colin Kaepernick passed for over 300 yards and scored four touchdowns in Nevada's 49-24 win over Eastern Washington on Thursday night.

RENO - Colin Kaepernick passed for over 300 yards and scored four touchdowns in Nevada's 49-24 win over Eastern Washington on Thursday night.
The Wolf Pack scored on their opening drive after Mike Ball returned the kickoff 57 yards deep into Eagles territory. That scoring drive was capped off by a one yard TD plunge by Vai Taua. Taua finished with 51 yards on 12 carries and two touchdowns.
Kaepernick gave Nevada a comfy 21-7 lead after the first quarter, running for a pair of short touchdowns. He finished with 60 yards rushing.
A 48 yard touchdown pass from Kaepernick to Virgil Green gave Nevada a 28-10 lead heading into halftime.
Those two hooked up again in the third quarter. Kaepernick found Green for a 40 yard touchdown. The senior tight end finished the game with 7 catches for 144 yards and two TD's.
Eastern Washington scored a pair of touchdowns in the third quarter to cut the Nevada lead to 35-24. The Eagles rolled up 432 yards of total offense.
Nevada put it away in the 4th, scoring two more rushing touchdowns. Taua scored on a three-yard run, followed by a one-yard dive by Lampford Mark.
Nevada hosts Colorado State on Saturday, September 11th. Kickoff is set for 7:30pm.
