Burners Burn Through Cash
Reno
If you think Burning Man only involves eccentric starving artists, think again. Participants come from all over the world and all walks of life. But all of them have to get to the Black Rock Desert some way, some how. Those who know the Black Rock Desert say renting an RV if you can, is the only way to go.

"Hello, Sierra RV"

Val DelliGatti says the calls are still coming in. People wanting to rent an RV for their trip out to this year's Burning Man. The problem is:

“Oh absolutely nothing. We rented everything out, it’s been gone since November and December last year,” says DelliGatti.

Take a look in the back lot and you can see the rentals are long gone all 39 of them. And at a cost of 2000-dollars or more, to take one of them out to burning man, a starving artists probably isn't the one signing the rental agreement.

“Because they have the dread locks doesn't mean they aren't the hot lawyer in New York. They show up here looking completely different and relaxed than what they look like at the office every day,” says DelliGatti.

“Oh all over the world, we have customers currently from England, from Germany, Australia, Brazil, film crews,” says Richard Dixon from Classic Adventures.

Dixon's lot too is cleared out of rentals, with three units on hold until tomorrow for a total of 40 vehicles. He says his R-VS are high end--costing more than four-thousand to start

You get fresh linens, running water, and maid service if you want. Pots and pans are provided there's a team to clean your water tank daily, and if you have any problems there's also an engineer there to help as well. You also get this complimentary t-shirt.

“Financially--one of the hidden gems of our area. People don't realize you get 50-thousand people here to bring in somewhere between 40-to-60-million to this area,”

Classic Adventures can charge more if the customer wants the RV out at Burning Man waiting for them. The company can also supply the full weeks’ worth of water. There’s an entire staff out a Burning Man to accommodate the customer throughout the event.

I do understand wanting an RV out there but the playa looks so much cooler with lots of tent communities, colorful bedspreads, domes, etc. plan ahead and do a beautiful windbreak and portable potty tent and center camp of your own friends -- you don't need an RV!
