Nevada gubernatorial candidates Rory Reid and Brian Sandoval are
preparing to lay out their proposals for education reform during their first official statewide debate.
The Democratic and Republican nominees are scheduled to debate Sunday in Las Vegas beginning at 6 p.m. from the Andre Agassi College Preparatory Academy.
A former federal judge and state attorney general, Sandoval defeated incumbent Gov. Jim Gibbons in June's Republican primary.
Reid, chairman of the Clark County Commission and son of U.S. Sen. Harry Reid, has trailed Sandoval by double digits in recent polls.
The latest voter survey commissioned by the Las Vegas Review-Journal and KLAS-TV was released Saturday and showed Sandoval with a 22 percentage point lead.
