Students at Carson High School have received a two-thousand dollar grant to produce a driver awareness project.
Students with the Carson High video production class will use the money to produce a campaign called "Every Second Counts."
The program is a collaborative effort between the school and the Carson City Sheriff's Department.
The goal is to reinforce to students that a moment of inattention behind the wheel could lead to a disastrous result.
The National Youth Leadership Council and State Farm Insurance are behind the grant.
Carson High is one of 25 schools across the country to get the funding.
