A sure sign today that fall is on the way....
The annual Great Reno Balloon Race got underway at Rancho San Rafael Park.
The balloons rose over the Biggest Little City just after sunrise today.
They'll take to the air Saturday and Sunday mornings.
The "Dawn patrol" is scheduled for just *before*
That's when the balloons go up while it's still dark...and light up the sky. Parking is limited at the Ranch San Rafael, so parking at the University, maybe a better choice. Citifare is also offering non-stop service to races every thirty minutes from Reed High School in Sparks, Meadwood Mall in South Reno, and the CitiCenter station in downtown Reno. Fares are $3.00 one way for adults, $1.50 for seniors, children and those with Citilift Ids. The shuttle runs from 4am until 10am
