Judge Says Fallon Cancer Suits To Stay In State Court

U.S. District Judge Brian Sandoval says the state court already has issued rulings on important aspects of the case. He also says the merits involve complex tort claims that are generally left to state courts.

The lawsuits will now continue in Washoe District Court with the
discovery of evidence.

The families of 21-year-old Stephanie Sands and 10-year-old Adam Jernee filed lawsuits in 2003.

They allege that pollution - including jet fuel, tungsten products, or both - caused the leukemia that has sickened 17 children and killed three of them since 1997.
