Garbage Rates Could Be Going Up

The Reno City Council is considering increasing its garbage franchise fee with Reno Disposal Company and its parent company Waste Management.
That amount would be enough to fund two code enforcement officers as well as the City's annual Reno Clean and Green community clean up campaign.
The proposal would translate to an increase in residential garbage fees of about .13 cents per month.
Waste Management will already increase its fees by 3.8 percent in October based on an increase in the Consumer Price Index.
That would bring Reno garbage pick up fees from $12.06 a month to $12.65
