SPARKS, NV - It's all the talk in Sparks: the Popeyes restaurant finally opened at Legends at Sparks Marina and about 30 cars were lined up even before the doors opened at 10 a.m.

Employees said the fast food restaurant had been packed all day. You could see a huge line extending outside of the front doors. Inside, it looked like a ride at an amusement park - with the line wrapping around. Workers say they marinated more than 60 crates of chicken; each crate contains 128 chicken parts. They couldn't estimate how many customers they were expecting for their grand opening, but say they were confident they would not run out of chicken by closing time.

Some people opted to stand in the long line because the drive-thru line looked even longer. Still, nothing could dampen their enthusiasm.

"I'm old enough to remember the old one that was here and I was disappointed when it left, so this is great," says Jimmy Shaw, a Reno resident who plans to come back regularly.

Melissa Sweeney said she didn't mind waiting for hours for her favorite chicken. She said she was "awesomely excited."

Bill Cosby caused a commotion when he showed up for a scheduled appearance at the restaurant early in the day. The new restaurant created about 65 jobs, not including managerial positions.
